In considering breast augmentation, you must take into consideration how you will look, but also how you want to feel and your activity level.  Consider all the following:

Current Physique

In making decisions about breast implants, it's important to honestly assess your starting point. How much breast tissue do you have? How wide is your chest? How long is your torso compared to your legs and arms? How big are your waist and hips? What is the position of your current breasts? Have your breasts grown, shrunk, or both in the past as a result of pregnancy and/or weight gain/loss? Are your breasts sagging? What is the condition of your skin? All of these will contribute to making the best breast augmentation decision.

Desired Look

Do you want your new breasts to look natural or flashy? Do you desire a subtle or dramatic change? Do you want to stand out in a crowd, fit in, or a little bit of both? Do you want your breasts to harmonize with the rest of your appearance, or is it more important that they stand out? Think about your personality and how you handle extra attention--does it make you feel good or uncomfortable? Once you've answered these questions, you'll have a good sense of how you want to look after breast augmentation.

Fashion

Think about both the style of clothing you wear now and what style of clothing you want to wear. Are you sick of wearing clothes designed to maximize the appearance of smaller breasts or would you like to continue wearing similar styles? What colors and patterns do you like to wear? Are there particular cuts of blouses or dresses that you particularly enjoy? Activity Level

The activities you enjoy on a regular basis can have a big impact on many of the decisions you make about your breast augmentation. Running and swimming can be affected by larger implants. Any activity that involves a lot of bending over or crouching can be less comfortable with larger implants as well. If you are a body builder or do other activities that build up or depend on upper-body strength, it may make submuscular placement of your implants less advisable. Make a list of your favorite and most common activities and bring it to your consultation to determine how any of them might be affected by your breast augmentation.

Profession

It's also important to consider how your breast augmentation might change the way you are perceived at work. In some workplaces, larger breasts may attract unwanted attention. In others, larger breasts may diminish others' perceptions of your professionalism. In these cases, you might want to work for breasts that can be dressed up or down according to the occasion. On the other hand you may have a profession where larger breasts may be perceived as more attractive and desirable.
